MX VPN (the "Service," the "App," or "MX VPN") is a mobile virtual private network application operated by Halsus Digital LLC. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use MX VPN on Android or iOS, why we collect it, how it is protected, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
MX VPN is built for people who need reliable, private access to the open internet, including users in regions with heavy internet censorship. By downloading, installing, or using MX VPN, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Our No-Logs Commitment
MX VPN operates on a strict no-logs principle with respect to your online activity. We do not log, monitor, store, inspect, or sell:
- Your browsing history, or the specific websites, apps, or services you access through the VPN tunnel;
- The content of your network traffic;
- The DNS queries you make while connected;
- The destination IP addresses or domains you connect to through the tunnel;
- Any record that would tie a specific website, service, or online action to your account or identity.
Because we do not create these records in the first place, we have nothing of this kind to hand over — to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else, including in response to a legal request.
2. How MX VPN Works, in Plain Terms
MX VPN routes your device's internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel to one of our servers, so that your internet provider, network operator, or anyone monitoring the network you are on cannot see which sites or services you are visiting. Depending on your location and network conditions, the App may automatically select among several modern, encrypted tunneling technologies to keep your connection working reliably even on restrictive or censored networks.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to create your account, provide the Service, keep it secure, and support our free and premium tiers. We group it into the following categories.
3.1 Account Information
When you create an MX VPN account, we collect and store the username you choose and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain, readable form). We do not require an email address to create or use an account. If you voluntarily provide contact details to our support channel (for example, when messaging [email protected] or our Telegram support handle), we retain that correspondence and any identifiers you shared in it, as described in Section 3.7.
3.2 Plan and Entitlement Data
To operate our free and premium tiers, we store: your current plan (trial, free, or premium), your plan or trial expiration date, and the number of devices registered against your device limit. Premium is activated on your account by us. The App is free to download and use, contains no purchases, and collects no payment information of any kind.
3.3 Usage and Quota Metadata
Free-tier accounts are subject to a daily data allowance. To enforce that allowance and to detect abuse (such as automated account creation or bandwidth abuse that could degrade the Service for other users), we track an aggregate count of data volume (bytes transferred) consumed against your daily or plan quota, and — for free-tier users who choose to watch a rewarded advertisement for additional data — a count of completed ad rewards granted per day. This is strictly a numeric usage counter. It is never linked to which websites, servers outside our network, or online destinations that data volume was associated with, consistent with Section 1.
3.4 Advertising Identifier and Ad Verification (Free Tier Only)
If you use the free tier, MX VPN may display rewarded video advertisements through Google AdMob to let you earn additional daily data. When an ad is shown, AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (such as Android's Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA, where permitted by your device settings) and related technical identifiers to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's own privacy practices. To prevent the reward from being claimed without actually watching the ad, we also pass your MX VPN username to AdMob at the moment an ad is requested; Google returns it, unchanged, in a signed confirmation sent directly to our server once you finish watching, which is how we verify who to credit before granting the bonus. Premium users are not shown advertisements and none of this data is collected for them. Where required by applicable law or platform policy, we will request your consent, or honor your device-level opt-out, before ads are shown or advertising identifiers are collected.
3.5 Device, Diagnostic, and Crash Information
We process limited technical information needed to run and troubleshoot the App, such as app version, operating system and version, general device type, selected language, and the VPN server region you choose to connect to. This includes crash reporting: MX VPN uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service), enabled by default in released versions of the App, to detect and diagnose crashes and technical errors. Crash reports are limited to technical stability information — an anonymous identifier generated on your device at install time (not your username or account), the type of error, and the app's internal state at the time (for example, whether the VPN was connecting, connected, or disconnected, and which server region and protocol were selected) — and never include your browsing activity, traffic content, or any information described in Section 1.
3.6 Push Notifications
MX VPN uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (also a Google service) to send you app notifications, such as service announcements. To do this, your device is issued a push notification token, which we use only to deliver notifications to broadcast topics (for example, "all users" or "users on a given plan") — we do not use it to build an individual profile of you or to target notifications based on your browsing activity. You can disable notifications for MX VPN at any time in your device's system settings.
3.7 Support Communications
If you contact us at [email protected] or through our official Telegram support channel, we keep a record of your messages and our replies so that we can assist you, investigate abuse reports, and improve the Service.
3.8 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your precise real-time or historical location, your contacts, your photos or files, or your device's biometric data, and none of the above is required to use MX VPN.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described in Section 3 only to: create and authenticate your account; provision and maintain your VPN connection; enforce free-tier data limits and grant ad-earned bonuses; activate and manage premium entitlements; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service; provide customer support; and maintain and improve the reliability, security, and performance of the Service. We do not use the categories of information described in Section 3 to build an advertising profile of your browsing activity, because we do not collect that activity in the first place.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your browsing activity, because we do not collect it. We share limited categories of information only as follows:
- Advertising. If you are a free-tier user and choose to watch a rewarded ad, Google AdMob receives the advertising identifier, your MX VPN username, and related technical data described in Section 3.4 to serve, measure, and verify that ad, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- Crash reporting and push notifications. Google (through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging) receives the crash, diagnostic, and push-notification-token data described in Sections 3.5 and 3.6, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- Service providers. We may share limited technical data described in Section 3.5 with infrastructure and hosting providers strictly to the extent necessary to operate our servers and deliver the Service.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information we actually hold (which, per Section 1, never includes your browsing activity or traffic content) if required to comply with a valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Halsus Digital LLC, our users, or the public, or to enforce our Terms of Service.
- Business transfers. If Halsus Digital LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, account information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a policy offering at least equivalent protections.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account and plan data described in Section 3 for as long as your account remains active and for a limited period afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Support correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a limited period afterward for quality and abuse-prevention purposes.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by emailing [email protected] from the account or contact details associated with your MX VPN account, or through an in-app deletion option where available. Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete your account identifier, hashed password, plan and quota records, and support history within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain limited records (for example, records needed to investigate an active abuse report). Because we do not log your browsing activity, there is no browsing history to delete — there was never any to begin with.
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 Rights Under the GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right, subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; request a portable copy of data you provided to us; object to or request restriction of certain processing; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. You may exercise these rights by emailing [email protected]. Our legal bases for processing the data described in Section 3 are: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service you signed up for), our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service and preventing abuse, and, where applicable, your consent (for example, for advertising identifiers, to the extent required by law).
7.2 Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what categories of personal information we have collected about you and for what purpose; request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, other than the limited AdMob advertising-identifier processing described in Section 3.4 and Section 5, which is provided to enable rewarded ads at your own request and choice. You may exercise your California rights by emailing [email protected]; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7.3 Verifying Your Request
To protect your data, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and control over the account before fulfilling a rights request, such as confirming details associated with your MX VPN account.
8. Children's Privacy
MX VPN is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
9. International Data Transfers
The servers and service providers we use to operate MX VPN may be located in the United States and other countries. If you access MX VPN from outside the United States, the limited personal information described in Section 3 may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home country. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, and we limit what we transfer to what is described in this Policy — which, as explained in Section 1, never includes your browsing activity.
10. Security Measures
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures designed to protect the information we do collect, including: encryption of your traffic in transit through the VPN tunnel; encrypted connections between the App and our backend services; hashing (not plain-text storage) of account passwords; and access controls limiting which systems and personnel can access account, plan, and support data, restricted to what is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the limited data we hold appropriately protected.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our data practices, or legal requirements. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of MX VPN after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
